Russian icebreaker "Krasin" makes way through ice for tanker to American polar station in Antarctic
Russian icebreaker "Krasin" has finished its mission on making way through ice for the tanker "Lawrence H.GIANELLA" to a polar station, belonging to the USA national scientific fund in Antarctic.
The press service of ship line administration informed, that the icebreaker came through 21 miles of ice for 3 hours. "Such a fast accomplishing the task was provided with a number of factors: continuous treatment of the channel with the ice-breaker during several days, maximum use of rising tide abilities, and temperature rise up to +5+6C" explained the press-service official.
