Veshnyakov: Frost cannot prevent elections in Russia
The head of Central Election Committee Alexander Veshnyakov is sure, that hard frost is not to prevent from organization and being held elections in Russia.
Speaking at the press-conference in Moscow, Veshnyakov reminded, that there was only one month left before the single day of united voting - March 12, when elections of various levels would be held in 60 constituent territories of the federation
"According to the forecasts from the Meteorology Service Centre, we have a month of medium cold, with no hard frost, and the candidates will have all conditions for election campaign and work with electors", said Veshnyakov.
He noted that hard frost scared some candidates, who even declared that they would not be able to campaign to the full value.
"As far as I understand, it`s all calmed down, and everybody, who has been preparing to the election, will participate in it", said Veshnyakov.
The Head of Central Election Committee calls assigning voting to a single day of second Sunday of march "absolutely explainable".
"If such a decision had not been made, in Kursk or Khanty-Mabsiysk autonomous region elections would have to be held in January 2006, when the temperature in Khanty-Mabsiysk autonomous region fell down to - 50C", said Veshnyakov.
