Aircraft of fifth generation to be added to Russian Air Force armory
Russian Air Force will get the aircraft of fifth generation in 2015-2016, informed on Thursday first Deputy Commander in Chief of Russian Air Force Anatoly Nogovitsin.
"The aircraft of fifth generation is being worked out in two directions as lightweight and heavy fighters. Such aircrafts will be received in about 2015-2016", noted Nogovitsin.
He said, that a new aircraft will be able to carry out both tactic and strategic tasks, in particular, to execute long-lasting flights at supersonic speed with repeated in-flight refueling at any point of the globe.
Speaking about the new machine technique, Nogovitsin noted, that the main emphasis will be on flight process automation with the latest intelligent systems.
Earlier, the Chief Commander of Russian Air Force Vladimir Mikhailov was reported to have informed that the aircraft of fifth generation can be tested in 2006 already.
