Georgian police deprives Osetin citizens of Russian passports
Ministry of Interior Affairs of unrecognized republic of South Osetia warned Georgian side about the inadmissibility of citizen passport examination by Georgian military police in the area of Transcaucasian highway Tamaransheno-Kesvi.
This was announced by representative of South Osetin government.
"Recently cases of passport examinations of predominantly Osetin citizens by Georgian military police became more frequent. Passports of Russian citizens, who live in South Osetia, were confiscated and destroyed", - he said.
"If similar practice continues South Osetin Ministry of Interior Affairs will take analogous measures against Georgian citizens", - said representative of South Osetin government.
"The presence of Georgian police units is illegal in this region", - emphasized the source.
