Metropolitan Cyrill participates in consecration of a church in Rio-de-Janeiro
Ceremonial consecration of a Russian Orthodox church of the Saint great martyr Zinaida took place in Rio-de-Janeiro on Sunday.
The chairman of the Department of Foreign Church Affairs of Moscow patriarchy metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Cyrill and metropolitan of Argentina, Brazil and South America Platon took part in the ceremony.
Metropolitan Cyrill expressed his gratitude to all Russian Orthodox believers for assistance and collaboration in the church reconstruction.
He was a part of Russian Orthodox delegation headed by the bishop of Vena and Austria Ilarion (Alfeyev), which participated in the meeting of All-World Council of Churches in Porto-Allegri.
