Elected as the new Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine
New Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine elected a 69-year-old Metropolitan Onufry, said in Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, where was held the Council of hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Enthronement (enthronement) will be held in the Abbey on 17 August, ITAR-TASS reported. Metropolitan Onufry scored the highest number of votes among the candidates. Beside him in the first round were also selected candidates - Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia.
