Maria Sharapova not included in national team for match on Federation Cup
The President of Russian Federation of tennis Shamil Tarpishchev revealed the names of participants of the national women`s team to quarterfinal match of Federation Cup against Belgium, which will be held in Liege.
"I have talked to Anastasia Myskina, Elena Dementyeva, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadezhda Petrova", said Trapischev. "They ddin`t refuse to represent Russia in Belgium. These tennis players are likely to be officially called for the team. Probabbly, Maria Kirilenko will join them too".
The best tennis woman-player of Russia Maria Sharapova will not play for Russian again. During her career Sharapova, who lives in the USA, has never played for Russian team. In the two previous years she excused her non-participation with tiredness, accumulated during the long season.
At present, Russia is acting owner of the Award. Russian girls beat French team with the score 3:2 last year in Paris.
