Kalinin explained difference between prison and post-graduate course to Khodorkovsky
The head of Federal Penitentiary Service Yuri Kalinin sees no obstacles preventing ex-head of "YUKOS" Mikhail Khodorkovsky from going in for scientific activity in Chita colony.
"Nobody has any objections! Time of prisoners is regulated by day schedule. Nobody works for 24 hours per day. If he wants to work only mentally then he would be disappointed. This is a prison and not post-graduate institute", - announced Kalinin.
In mid-January Khodorkovsky handed in application to colony chief with request to allow scientific activity. The lawyer of prisoner Natalia Terekhova informed that ex-head of "YUKOS" concluded contract with journal "Chemistry and life" for article writing.
After visit to colony mother of Khodorkovsky complained that son is deprived of possibility to do scientific work. "He is prohibited to publish articles", - she said.
Khodorkovsky was assigned for work in sewing department by decision of colonial administration. Terekhova noted that this work doesn`t correspond to level of education and skills of ex-head of "YUKOS". Khodorkovsky has 2 certificates of high education.
