There is one step to bird flu pandemic : expert
There is one step remained to the bird flu pandemic , the director of the Ivanovskiy scientific research institute of virology Dmitry Lvov says.
"There is no just one amino-acid replacement in the genome for the virus to be dangerous for a human. And then the fire would start", the academician said at the press conference. According to him, pandemic virus can appear at any moment.
"In my opinion, the virus is most likely to come from China", said Lvov. According to his estimation, human losses in case of the pandemic will amount to tens of millions. Lvov assumes that there are no means from the pandemic of bird flu.
"Those, who say that it is possible to fight with this virus spreading, probably, are able to prevent earthquake, tsunami, hurricane. This is a natural disaster, and no one can fight with it", the academician said.
