Expert: "bird flu" kills 150 million people
The global spread of "bird flu" can kill from 5 to 150 millions people.
As David Navarro said everything depends on the steps a world will take to control bird flu in Asia. Moreover, virus can mutate and pass from one human to another.
"We expect the next outburst of bird flu at any time", - Nabarro said on N.A.T.O press-conference in New York.
At present people became infected with virus H5N1 after contact with sick birds. Starting from 2003 more than 60 people are dead in Asia.
The material losses of poultry keeping in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia came from 10 to 15 millions dollars.
