The Russians saw a solar Eclipse
The inhabitants of the Central part of the Russian Federation on 20 March was able to see a unique natural phenomenon of a total solar Eclipse. At noon, the Moon was obscured by more than 60% of the solar disk. The Eclipse started at 12:11, and ended at 14:25.
The Eclipse started in the North Atlantic, later, after going through the Faroe Islands and the Norwegian sea, the moon's shadow was thrown to the Spitsbergen archipelago, and further North to the North pole. The limit point of the Eclipse was observed in the Norwegian sea to the East of Iceland. There the maximum duration of the Eclipse reached 2 minutes 47 seconds.
Private phase were visible in Europe and part of Russia. In Moscow, the phenomenon started at 12:11, and its ultimate phase occurred at 13:20. Already at 14:25 heavenly bodies came to a normal state. The maximum phase of partiality in the city of Moscow was 0.65 (i.e. it was seen as 65% of the solar disk was closed, the moon's shadow). The maximum phase, which could be observed in Russia, was from 0.87 in Murmansk. The terrain of Eastern Siberia and the Far East, this phenomenon was impossible to observe.
The Federal air transport Agency approved, the solar Eclipse did not affect flights of civil aviation and navigation equipment.
