Biography BYKOVSKY Valery Fedorovich
Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR / Russia. Born August 2, 1934 in g. Pavlovsky Posad, Moscow region. In 1955 he graduated the Kachin Military Aviation School behalf AF Myasnikov. In 1955 - 1960 he. served in the Fighter Regiment of the Moscow Air Defense District. In 1960, he was enrolled in the cosmonaut (1960 Group of the Air Force? 1).

Trained to fly on ships such as 'East'. He served as backup spacecraft commander during the flight Nikolayev on the ship "Vostok-3 '(11-15 August 1962). He made space flight as spacecraft commander of Vostok-5 '(14-19 June 1963). The flight lasted 4 days 23 hours 6 minutes. Then trained to fly on ships such as 'Union' of Soviet lunar program. He was awarded three Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Star, the Labor Red Banner and medals. Hero of Labor of Vietnam. Hero of Socialist Labor of Bulgaria. Hero of the GDR. Awarded the Order of Karl Marx (GDR), the Order of the Cross of Grunwald I degree (Poland), the Order of the Star of the Republic of Indonesia II grade, other orders and medals of foreign countries. He was awarded a gold medal Tsiolkovsky Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Medal de Lavaux (FAI), a gold medal "For outstanding contrast 'and an honorary diploma of the Royal Swedish Aeroclub.
