Brand (Brando) Marlon (p. 03. 04. 1924, Omaha, pc. Nebraska), American film actor and theater director.
He studied at the Military Academy in Minnesota, in 1943 entered the New York theater class School for Social Research, then in the Actors Studio. In 1944, debuted on Broadway in "I love my mother ', in 1950 - in the movie (the movie Fr. Zinnemann 'Men' (Battle Stripe), which played the paralyzed disabled World War II).
The real success came after Brando Filming E. Kazanov play T. Williams '' Streetcar 'Desire' (A Streetcar Named Desire, 1951), where, as on the stage, the actor playing Stanley Kowalski. Immediate improvisational style, frank sexuality, original, bawdy humor and occasional flashes of humanity in general dark background helped create a very unusual way.
