George Gibbs Dibrell was born in White County, Tenn., April 12, 1822. Receiving the usual high school education, completed a year teaching at the University of East Tennessee, Dibrell gradually engaged in agriculture and trade. In 1861 he was elected a delegate to the State Assembly, decides to secede from the Union, as a supporter of the last. And we strongly defended his point of view.
