Biography VILLUAN Alexander
(1804 - 78), son of a French emigre, Villoing. Studied music at F.K. Hebel, performed in concerts and taught music, among other things, Anton Rubinstein, who was accompanied in his first concert tour (1840 - 42). In 1862, Mr.. entered a professor at the newly founded St. Petersburg. Conservatory. In 1863, Mr.. published a "School for piano. Adopted by the leadership of the Conservatory, she endured many editions and was translated into German and French. A. Rubinstein speaks enthusiastically about his teacher. Musical compositions Villuana, for the most part, remained in manuscript. Early of them - dancing and romance - published in Moscow (the song "Recognition", 1835; "Seconde Quadrille"); others, such as, "Grande Valse et Mazurka", "La folle de Moscou", "Ballade". - Of the three piano concertos released only the first (c-dur). Villuan composed two overture for orchestra in St. Petersburg., Piano trio, etc.. As a composer, known Villuan not used. - See. AA. Neustroyev A. I.
