Biography Martynov, Ivan Mikhailovich
(d. 1894). In 1860 he emigrated to France, joined the Order of Jesuits, has devoted himself first polemic against orthodoxy, then studies in archeology and history, mostly Russian, in the interests of Catholicism. First, its very valuable work in this area was the publication "Les manuscrits slaves de la bibliotheque Imperiale de Paris, avec un calque" (Paris, 1858). Be many articles in the French press, led them to a chronicle of Russian scientific and literary life, under the title "Courrier Russe". The best of his works: "Annus ecclesiasticus Graeco-Slavicus" (1863). Catholic author's tendency to affect the insertion in the list of saints Jehoshaphat Kuntsevich.
