Biography Ivan Melnikov
(1831 - 1906). He graduated from the Commercial College, engaged in trade, but soon devoted himself to music. He made his debut in 1860, in a concert of St. Petersburg Music School Lomakina. In 1867, Mr.. Melnikov was made in St. Petersburg, the "Puritans," and became one of the eminent opera. Its main roles: Ruslan Melnik (in "Mermaid"), Boris Godunov, Kochubey (in "Mazeppa, Tchaikovsky), Demon (Rubinstein in the opera), Wolfram (in" Tannhцєuser "Wagner). Leaving the scene, founded in 1892. choral class, gave, under the direction of Becker, with excellent results.
