Petrushevsky Michael Fomich

(1832 - 1893), completed the course in 1 st Cadet Corps and Nicholas General Staff Academy, serving in the Life-Guards Litovsky Regiment, participated in the cases against Polish rebels (1863 - 1864), and was wounded. Appointed first chief of staff of the local troops of the Orenburg military district, then assistant chief of staff of the Turkestan Military District, Petrushevsky participated in the campaign against Bukharans (1868) as Chief of Staff of the Field. During the Turkish War of 1877 - 1878 period Petrushevsky commanded the first brigade, then division, took part in the crossing of the Danube (at Sistova) and in the defense of the Shipka Pass. When attacking the Shipka position and the capture Wessel Pasha's army corps, General Radetzky, December 28, 1877, Petrushevsky commanded troops, attacking the Turks from the front. In 1882, Mr.. by 1891. commanded 4 Corps, then was at the disposal of the Minister of War. Petrushevsky belonged to the school class-conscious followers of the principles of Suvorov, t. e. attached prime importance of educating the spirit of the troops, even at a time when this line was not dominant in our army.
