Biography Apollonius of Tyana
Tian was born in Cappadocia in the possibly of one year with Jesus Christ. Apollonius studied at Tarsus and the temple of Asclepius in Egah, where he became the Pythagoreans. Many traveled to Asia Minor, India, Spain, Africa, was in Greece and Rome, following the tradition of Pythagoreanism, he was a mystic, but a lot of speaking to people. Emperor Domitian, Apollonius threw in jail on charges of treason, but he escaped, allegedly by a miracle. It is believed that he founded a school in Ephesus and died either in the same or Rhodes or Crete, lived almost a hundred years in piety and asceticism. The only surviving biography of Apollonius of Flavius Philostratus compiled app. 216 BC. commissioned by the empress Julia Domna (wife of Septimius Severus). The author claims that it is based on the letters of the Apollonian and the diaries of his companion Damida. In this book usually see the novel on a religious subject, with a small element of historical authenticity. Christians rejected it as a heretical attempt to compete with Gospels (especially given the coincidence of dates of birth, the similarity of signs, linked with the birth of Christ and Apollonius, and the ability to perform miracles of Apollonius). However, as in the case of 'messianic' eclogues Virgil, the history of Apollonia, possibly associated with the widespread belief in the appearance of people born with divine intervention.
