Biography BEK Henri Franö¿ois (Becque Henri Franois)
(1837-1899) One of the first to break with the conventions of both klassitsistskogo and romantic theater. Born April 9, 1837 in Paris. The dramatic comedy career started Prodigal Son (L'Enfant prodigue, 1867). The most famous of his play Ravens (Les Corbeaux), a masterpiece of naturalistic theater. Written in 1876-1877, she was placed in the 'Comedie Francaise' in 1882, but was not successful. There are no stylistic tricks, the characters say 'as in life', using the vernacular, and even the wrong expression. The play tells of the widow and her daughters after the death of the head of the family fell into the hands of dishonest lawyers, false friends and merciless creditors. Play Parisian (La Parisienne, 1885) - a caustic satire on female infidelity. Beck professed deeply pessimistic view of society, and in all his plays are derived mainly repulsive characters. Beck died in Paris on May 12, 1899.
