Biography Duchamp-Villon, Raymond (Duchamp-Villon Raymond)
(1876-1918) Brother artists, Jacques Villon and Marcel Duchamp, born in Danvile November 5, 1876. He received medical training, but then, like his brothers, took up art. Early masters of the style was formed under the influence of Rodin, but he soon left him, fascinated by Cubism. Was a member of the association 'Golden Section', then joined in the Dadaists. Duchamp-Villon was the first who started to apply cubist architectural ornament in the draft (1912). Later in his works appeared remarkable ability to capture the essence of organic forms and transmit motion (Baudelaire, 1911; Horse, 1914). Duchamp-Villon died Oct. 7, 1918.
