Biography Andrea del Castagno (Castagno Andrea del)
(1423-1457) Andrea (or Andreini) De Bartolomeo, was born in 1423 in Castanet. Many works Castaц?o, executed in fresco technique, are in the former convent of St.. Apollonia in Florence: The Last Supper, the Crucifixion, and two more figures, depicting the great men of Florence and their legendary predecessors. Fresco horse-portrait of Niccolц? da Tolentino (1456) is located in the interior of the cathedral of Florence in front of a portrait of Sir John Houkvuda P. Uccello. Among the few tempera works attributed Castaц?o, two are stored in the National Gallery in Washington - this is David, written on a leather shield, and cingulate male portrait. Castaц?o died in 1457.
