In 1945 she married actor D. Egara, in 1950, divorced him and married to a businessman from San Francisco C. Blake. After that, Temple had not renewed the work in the cinema, in 1967, stepped into the path of social activity. She was the U.S. representative to the UN, Ambassador to Ghana, chief of protocol in the administration of President D. Ford. In 1989 was appointed U.S. ambassador to Czechoslovakia.
