Biography Richard Foster Flint (Flint Richard Foster)
(1902-1976) Born March 1, 1902 in Chicago (pc. Illinois). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1925. He taught at Yale University (since 1945 a professor of geology) in 1950 was elected Chairman of the Board Geohronometricheskoy laboratory. In 1937, participated as a senior research fellow in the American Arctic expedition L. Boyd, 1946 - Senior Geologist, U.S. Geological Survey. He participated in geological surveys, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois and Connecticut. He was chairman of the committee to map the Quaternary paleogeography of North America (published in 1945). Since 1930 - Member of the editorial board of 'the American scientific journal' ( 'American Journal of Science'). Author of books - Introduction to Physical Geology (An Introduction to Physical Geology, . co, . 1955), Glacial and Pleistocene Geology (Glacial and Pleistocene Geology, . 1957), Glacial and Quaternary Geology (Glacial and Quaternary Geology, . 1971); Earth and its history (The Earth and its History, . 1973), . Flint died in New Haven (pc. Connecticut), June 5, 1976.
