Biography Hu Yaobang
(1915-1989) Born in 1915 in Hunan Province. In early 1930 he joined the communist movement and worked with youth in communist guerrilla base in Jiangxi Province. In 1934-1935 took part in the 'Grand march', and then continued to educate youth and educational work. His relationship with Deng Xiaoping established during the Sino-Japanese (1937-1945) and civil (1946-1949) wars. In mid-1952, Deng and Hu moved to Beijing. Hu Yaobang was elected leader of the Communist Youth League of China, and Deng became its chief, received the post of General Secretary of CPC and leading the work with the governing apparatus of the Party. Headed by Hu Yaobanom YCL played the role of elite prep school for the party.
Hu was one of the first victims inspired by Mao Zedong 'cultural revolution' and spent several years in prison (1966-1973). In April 1976, in connection with the new disgrace, Deng Xiaoping, he once again disappeared from public view and has appeared on the political scene only after the rehabilitation of Deng in July 1977.
As the influence of Dan intensified, Hu won important positions in the party bureaucracy, and in December 1978 was introduced in the Politburo. In February 1980 became a member of the Politburo Standing Committee and was elected General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee. The main task of Hu Yaobang, was the opposition Conservatives, as well as promotion to senior positions young communists. After withdrawing in June 1981, Hua Guofeng, Hu Yaobanu went to the post of chairman of the CPC Central Committee, abolished in September 1982.
At the end of 1986, China received widespread student demonstrations calling for the continuation of democratic reforms. January 12, 1987, Hu Yaobang was forced to resign as Secretary General. Hu Yaobang died in Beijing on April 15, 1989.
