Antipater (Antipatros)

Antipater, Antipatros, of Sidon, late. II in. BC. e., Greek poet. Born Tire. By ca. 80 epigrams preserved in the Palatine Anthology, which most often repeated motifs early epigrammatikov, especially Leonid of Tarentum. Predominate fictitious grave epigrams and rhetorical appeal. Quintus Catullus Lutatius remembered A. as a good improviser.
