B Elyakov Alexander - Soviet pilot. Born December 21, 1897 in the village Bezzubov now Noginsk district, Moscow region in the teacher's family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1936. Childhood and adolescence spent in Ryazan. He graduated from high school. In 1915-1916 he studied at the Petrograd Forest Institute.

In the army since 1916. In 1917 he graduated from Aleksandrovskoe Infantry School in Moscow. Member of the Civil War in the 25 th Infantry Division (Eastern Front). In 1921 he graduated from the Moscow School of aerial photogrammetry, worked there as a lecturer. In 1930-1935 - a teacher, head of Air Navigation Department of the Air Force Academy named after NE Zhukovsky. In 1936 he graduated from externally Kachin VASHL.

. 20-22 July 1936 at the ANT-25 as a navigator (the commander - VP Chkalov, . co-pilot - GF Bajdukov) made a nonstop flight from Moscow through the Arctic Ocean, . Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on Udd Island (now - Island Chkalov) length of 9374 km.,

. W tion of the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Vasilyevich Belyakova awarded July 24, 1936 for the implementation of this flight and for displaying courage and heroism.

. In 1937 at the ANT-25 as a navigator in the composition of the same crew for the first time in the world to accomplish a nonstop flight from Moscow, the North Pole to Vancouver (USA) 8504 km long.

. In 1936-1939 - the flag-navigator Aviation Special Purpose (AON), in 1939-1940 - the flag-Red Army Air Force navigator
. Since 1940 - Deputy Chief of BBA (now - BBA Gagarin), then - head of the Ryazan Higher School of Air Force navigators.

During the Great Patriotic War, Major General Belyakov AV. Head of the Ryazan Higher School of Air Force navigators. In 1945, Lieutenant General Aviation Belyakov AV. participated in the Berlin operation in chief navigator 16-th Air Army.

In 1945-1960 - Head of the Faculty navigator Air Force Academy. Since 1960 - Lieutenant General Aviation Belyakov AV. retired.

Since 1960 - Professor of the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute, headed the military department. Author of many scientific papers on air navigation. Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 1-th convocation.

Lived in Moscow. Died Nov. 28, 1982. He was buried in Moscow, the Novodevichy cemetery.

Doctor of Geographical Sciences. Awarded 2 orders of Lenin, 3 orders of the Red Banner, Order of the Patriotic War, 1-st degree, 2 orders of Red Banner of Labor, 3 orders of Red Star and medals. His name is given to the island in the Sea of Okhotsk, the streets in Moscow, Mogilev, Mariupol and other cities.
