. Born Dec. 4, 1917 in the village Novoselki now Kolpryanskogo region Orel region in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1942. He graduated from the 2 course Orlovsky seed College. In the Red Army in 1936. He graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation Pilot School in 1939. Participated in the liberation campaign in western Ukraine in 1939.
Member of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. Captain Gusarov, NM. July 5, 1943 flew to La-5 on the cover for ground troops. In the air battle over the station Ponyri Kursk region shot down one enemy fighter and another rammed.
. By November 1943, Major Gusarov made 432 sorties, 69 air battles personally shot down 15 and a group of 14 aircraft of the enemy.
