In 1927-1929 he studied at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1932 graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Engineers GVF. In 1932 he worked as an engineer in the General Office of the Civil Air Fleet, in 1932-1933 Б? in the Leningrad Institute of Engineers GVF.
In 1934 he graduated from flight school Bataisk GVF. In 1934-1935 Б? pilot-instructor at the Leningrad Institute of engineers GVF. In 1935-1941 worked as a pilot in the Moscow Office of the GVF.
In the Soviet army from 1941. Member of the Great Patriotic War: November 1941-May 1943 Б? commander of the Moscow Office of the special formations GVF. January 28, 1942 was shot down over enemy territory and captured. In August 1942, escaped from captivity and until October 23, 1942 fought a guerrilla. In May 1943-February 1944 Б? inspector pilot technique 73rd auxiliary air division (Long-Range Aviation), in March 1944-May 1945 Б? commanding 89-second transport aviation regiment (Long-Range Aviation). Altogether during the war has made 89 sorties deep into the rear of the enemy for paratroop landings on the front line for delivery of ammunition and weapons.
