F ROAR D. Markin, Guard Staff Sergeant, reconnaissance 24-th Guards Airborne Infantry Regiment, 10 th Guards Airborne Infantry Division, was born March 5, 1915 in d
. Nizovka Samoylovokogo district of Saratov region. Russian. In 1927 he graduated from elementary school in his native village. In 1936 - 1938 he served in the Red Army. In the summer of 1938 took part in battles against Japanese invaders in the Lake Hasan.

During the Great Patriotic War - from January 1942 to May 1945 - fought in the South, the Karelian and 3 rd Ukrainian fronts. He participated in the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Hungary and Austria. Thrice wounded. For military distinctions awarded the Order of the Red Star (1943), Glory 3rd degree (1944) and the medals "For the Capture of Budapest", "For the capture of Vienna", "For Victory over Germany in World War II 1941 - 1945." and two commemorative medals.

. In 1946 - 1951 he worked chairman of the kolkhoz "12 years of October" in 1954 - 1960 - head of the collective farm "Drummer". Since 1960, Fd. Markin team led by the collective farm poultry farm in d. Nizovka Samoilovsky district of Saratov region.

Died March 25, 1982.

E it was April 12, 1944 south of Tiraspol. Regimental commander, Major Zherebtsov summoned Guard Sergeant Markina and placed before him challenging task: a group of scouts to cross to the right bank of the Dniester, . destroy the enemy firing points in the first trench, . capture the coastal high-rise and hold it up to the crossing of the main forces regiment.,

. At two o'clock in the morning group Markina plunged into a wooden boat and sailed away from the shore. Hitler observers highlighted the Dniester missiles, and discovered the scouts opened fire with machine guns. One of the scouts was wounded, but the others beat upon the oars, and soon the boat moored to the shore occupied by the enemy. The scouts stepped aside from the touchdown point, climbed on the coastal Kruchu. Markin crawled to shoot the machine gun and a long burst of automatic silenced him, and then from close range aptly cast in the embrasure of the enemy bunker anti-tank grenade. Grenade and machine-gun fire had destroyed more than two dozen Nazis.

Soon the scouts destroyed another enemy machine gun with the calculation and captured the trenches at the coastal area height. Markin gave the green light - a signal the successful execution of combat missions. Using an enabling environment, the regiment without loss in their personal, I was part of military equipment crossed the Dniester, a bold attack overthrew the enemy, and expanded the tiny foothold, captured brave scouts. Later on this beachhead crossed all of the 10 th Division.

The next night, a group of scouts under the command of Markina on orders of division headquarters has discovered a ford through the Dniester estuary, which came out attacking unit. This ford was used for the crossing of two infantry regiments.

Bridgehead south of Tiraspol, captured by our units, was of great operational significance. Hence, in August 1944, troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front began major operations to liberate Moldavia and Romania.
