In the army since 1938. In 1938 graduated from Borisoglebsk Air Force Pilot School. Until 1940 he served in line units air. In 1942 he graduated from the Air Force Engineering Academy named after NE Zhukovsky.
In 1942-1943 Б? assistant leading engineer Research and Experimental Institute of the Air Force. In 1943-1950 Б? test pilot and engineer leading the Air Force Research Institute, conducted a public test of jet Yak-15, Yak-23 Yak-30, participated in state testing of jet fighters MiG-9 and MiG-15.
