GERMESIANAKS (Hermesianaks)

Germesianaks; Hermesianaks, of Colophon, born. app. 300 g. BC. e., Greek poet. A student and friend Fileta Kosskogo and Kos has, apparently, most of his life. He wrote elegies, perhaps, epilii, of which only fragments remain. Only name we know Peach (Persika) - epily or love elegy. Best-known love elegy Leontine (Leontion; name of his beloved GM), from which a fragment is preserved in 11 verses, referring probably to the history of Polyphemus and Galatea, as well as a piece of Prince III. in 98 poems, containing a list of love affairs of famous poets and philosophers, beginning with the half-mythical Orpheus, and ending with his contemporaries (Filet). Most of these stories are fictitious and are not reliable (for example, Homer's love for Penelope, to Eoe Hesiod, Alcaeus to Sappho, Socrates to Aspasia). Apparently, the poet himself did not take them seriously. In excerpts are clearly visible to the characteristics of Alexandrian poetry - the introduction glosses, interest in the topics of love, especially to the stories of unhappy love, but it did not have a great poetic talent.
