Biography WAGNER Winifred (Wagner)
Wagner, Winifred (Wagner), the daughter of composer Richard Wagner, the wife of his son, Siegfried. A close friend of Adolf Hitler. Born in England in 1894, was the adopted daughter of Franz Liszt's pupil Carl Klindworth. In 1915 she married Siegfried Wagner, who was older than her twenty-five years. The spring of 1923 she met Hitler, then the politics begin. Hitler was a frequent visitor to the house of Richard Wagner in Bayreuth, especially after the death in 1930, Siegfried Wagner. There were rumors that he was going to marry Winifred. Thanks to Hitler, the annual Bayreuth opera festival, which was led by Winifred, received continued financial support of the government.
