HANCO Karl (Hanke)

Hanke, Karl (Hanke), (1903-1945), Gauleiter of Silesia. Born August 24, 1903 in Laubane, Lower. Silesia. By profession miller. In the 20-ies. joined the Nazi party. Since 1932 member of the Reichstag. In 1933-41 adjutant and assistant Paul Joseph Goebbels. In 1941 he was appointed Gauleiter Hanke Nizhn. Silesia. In the last days of the Third Reich, Hitler, Himmler accused of treason and stripped him of all their posts and positions, appointed in his place Hanke. In July 1945, Hanke was shot by former Czech partisans.
