Lafargue, Paul (1842 - 1911) - one of the most seasoned French Marxists, was personally acquainted with Karl Marx, who had a decisive influence on the development of his political and scientific views. Took an active part in the Paris Commune, after the defeat that he fled to Spain. Returning to France after the amnesty, he quickly moved into the ranks of the most influential leaders of the French labor movement. Peru Lafargue several important scientific papers and brochures. In old age, conscious of its unsuitability for further work, committed suicide.
