Konstantin CHERNENKO professor (1911-1985), statesman, Hero of Socialist Labor (1976, 1981, 1984). In 1956-60 in the apparatus of the CPSU Central Committee. Since 1984, the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee and Chairman of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme. Politburo member since 1978. Lenin Prize (1982).
