Biography ALMKVIST Carl Jonas Louvet
ALMKVIST, Karl Jonas Louvet (Almqvist, Karl Jonas Love) (1793-1866), Swedish writer. Born November 28, 1793 in Stockholm, in 1815 he graduated from the University of Uppsala. Enter public service, a few years later married a peasant girl and settled in a village in the province of Vцєrmland. Eighteen months Almkvist returned to Stockholm. His novel can be (Det ger an, 1839), where the question was subjected to the institution of marriage has caused debate in the society. The outbreak of the controversy put an end to the calculations of the author to make a career in the public arena, and from 1840 he worked exclusively creativity. His main work - Book hips (Trnrosens bok, 1832-1851) - consists of 14 volumes and contains historical novels and stories of people's lives, some of them, such as Chapel (Kapellet, 1838), belong to the classics of Swedish literature. Died Almkvist in Bremen (Germany) 26 September 1866.
