Guarneri (Guarnieri, Guarneri or Guarnerius), a famous family of Italian masters of stringed instruments 17-18 centuries. The oldest of the Masters was Andrea Guarneri (p. app. 1626 - mind. December 7, 1698), which, like A. Stradivari, he studied his craft in the workshop N. Amati. Eldest son, Andrea - Pietro Giovanni (born in Cremona on Feb. 18, 1655, died in Mantua, March 26, 1720) - known as Pietro of Mantua. Some tools are made on his own original model. The younger brother Pietro - Giuseppe Giovanni (p. November 25, 1666 - d.. app. 1740) known as Giuseppe, the son of Andrea, in his later work was influenced by his son Giuseppe, known as Giuseppe del Gesц№ (born in Cremona on Aug. 21, 1698, died in Cremona on Oct. 17, 1744), the most famous member of the family. The best violin made by Giuseppe del Gesц№, not inferior to the best instruments of Stradivari and even surpass them. The last of the masters of the family was Pietro Guarneri Guarneri, known as Pietro of Venice (p. April 14, 1695 - d.. April 7, 1762), son of Giuseppe, the son of Andrea and his nephew Pietro of Mantua.
