Vyacheslav Tikhonov was born in Pavlovsky Posad, Moscow region. He graduated from the Cinematography Institute (1950, Workshop B. Bibikova and O. Pyzhova). From 1950 - actor studio actor theater. In the cinema since 1948 (the first part - Volodya Osmuhin - in Sergei Gerasimov's film 'Young Guard'). From 1957 - actor studio of. M. Gorky.
State Winner. Prize (1970 - for participation in filme'Dozhivem until Monday '), winner of State. Prize of Russia (1976 - for participation in the TV series "Seventeen Moments of Spring '), Lenin Prize laureate (1980 - for participation in the film' White Bim Black Ear '). People's Artist of USSR (1974).
