Born April 26, 1942, Mr.. in Chelyabinsk. Father - Igor Fyodorovich Belza (1904-1994). Mother - Belza-Doroshuk (Gulinsky) Zoya K. (1921-1999). Children: Igor Belza Svyatoslavovych (1971 g.rozhd.) Belza Fedor Svyatoslavovych (1981 g.rozhd.).
He graduated from the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University (1960-1965 gg.) Specialty "philologist, literary critic".
Since 1965, Mr.. worked as a junior, and since 1986. present - Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of World Literature Gorky Russia Academy of Sciences. In 1979-1989 he. was a part-time columnist for the foreign culture of the Literary Gazette. In 1988-1996 he. - Author and presenter of TV program "Music in the Air" (Ostankino, ORT). From 1993 to 1995. was artistic director of the studio music and entertainment programs "Ostankino". Currently Svyatoslav Belza leads series "Masterpieces of World Music Theater" on TV channel "Culture". In 1993 and 1998. was chairman of the jury of the festival "Kinoshock".
