Biography Grave Dmitry
Born in 1863. The first works Grave, as well as his dissertation: "On the surface minima" printed in "Memoirs of Physical and Mathematical Society of students of St. Petersburg University" (t. I, 1884 - 85; t. II, 1885; t. III, 1886 - 1887). Upon completing Grave was left at the university to prepare for the activities of the teacher, in 1889. He defended his master's degree in pure mathematics dissertation: "On partial differential equations of first order" and in the autumn of the same began lecturing at St. Petersburg University. In 1890, Mr.. He was invited to teach higher mathematics at the Institute of Railway Engineers, and from autumn 1892. - Also at the higher women's courses. In 1896, Mr.. defended his thesis for a doctorate in mathematics: "On the basic problems of mathematical theory of constructing geographical maps". Consisted professor of mathematics at the Mining Institute, and then was elected a professor at Kiev University, where he is now. In addition to numerous small papers in various mathematical journals, published a series of treatises on the various departments of Higher Mathematics. Of these, we particularly note the theory of groups (Kiev, 1908), elementary course in number theory (Kiev, 1909) and the arithmetic theory of algebraic quantities (Kiev, 1910).
