Biography Erofeev Mikhail V.
(1839 - 1888). In 1863, Mr.. graduated from the course St. Peterburgkogo candidate University of Natural Sciences. From 1864 to 1865. was conservative in the mineralogical cabinet of St. Petersburg University. in the last year had been sent for scientific purposes abroad, on his return was approved by the 1870. assistant professor in the department of Mineralogy and geognosy at the Imperial University of Novorossiysk. By defended dissertations "Crystallographic and kristalloopticheskie properties of tourmaline was appointed (1871) Associate Professor of Mineralogy and geognosy Imperial St. Petersburg University. In 1879, Mr.. appointed extraordinary professor at the University of Warsaw, but after three months returned to St. Petersburg and remained an assistant professor in the forestry institute, where he previously taught mineralogy and geognosy. Out of print his works are known: "Crystallographic and kristalloopticheskie study tourmalines" (Saint-Petersburg, . 1870); "Crystals of magnetic iron ore from Mount Grace" (St. Petersburg), . "Description of the neo-ureyskogo meteorite" (Saint-Petersburg, . 1888; work performed jointly with Professor P.A, . Lachinova). The latter work was awarded by the Academy of Sciences Lomonosov Prize. P. Z.
