Biography Joseph Antonovich Kozlovsky
(1757 - 1831). From 1786 to 1821 headed the St. Petersburg Theater orchestras and significantly raised the teaching tool in classrooms Theater School. He wrote music for "Oedipus in Athens" and "blue eyes" Ozerov, "Deborah" Shahovskoy, "Oedipus the king" Gruzintseva, "Esther" in the translation of Racine Kapnist. Great popularity he brought his polonaise, Polish for chorus and orchestra "Thunder victory peal". Other of his works: a few masses, two Requiem (the death of King Stanislaus Augustus and Emperor Alexander I), a lot of songs on the Russian texts. Not published his collection remained "Recuil d'airs russes, francais, italiens" (1809).
