Combine medical practice with teaching, was the town doctor (Stadtphysicus) Leipzig and professor of medicine at Leipzig University. Author of several works on astrology, medicine and chemistry. B. belonged to one of the last generations of doctors who believed astrology was an integral part of medical knowledge.
