Biography Bertie Ahern (Ahern Bertie)
(p. 1951) Born September 12, 1951 in Dublin in a family farmer. He graduated from University College in Dublin specialty accounting. In 1977 he was elected to the lower house of Parliament from Dublin County Finglas on the list of center-right party Fianna Fц?il. In 1982, was promoted to parliamentary party organizer. In 1987, entered the cabinet as Minister of Labor, and in 1991 was appointed Minister of Finance. In November 1994 he was elected leader of Fianna Fц?il after the resignation of Albert Reynolds. In May 1997, Fianna Fц?il won the most seats in parliament, and June 26, 1997 Ahern became prime minister. Starting from April 1998 took part in the conclusion of several agreements on ending the violence and the world, as well as greater self-governance of Northern Ireland, including in conjunction with Mr Blair took part in the development of a plan 'The Way Forward'.
