Biography BABIä? Mihai (Babits Mihaly)
(1883-1941) Born November 26, 1883 in Szekszard; graduated from the Budapest University. Home literary activity relates to 1908, when the poetic anthology Tomorrow (Holnap), published in Nadvarade, published his poems. Since that time, he fully devoted himself to creative work, becoming a permanent employee of the magazine 'Nyugat' ( 'West'), a body modern literature from 1916 - its editor. Were successful novels and short stories Babic, he masterfully translated Dante's Divine Comedy. Among his collections - Leaves wreath Iris (Levelek Jrisz koszorjbl, 1909), Recitative (Recitatv, 1916) and the Valley of anxiety (Nyugtalansg vlgye, 1920). Among the novels Babic - Caliph-Stork (A glyakalifa, . 1920), . Christmas Madonna (Karcsonyi Madonna, . 1920), . House of Cards (Krtyavar, . 1923); his outstanding epic novel Sons of death (Hallfiai, . 1927) gives a picture of social change before and after the First World War, . Babic died Aug. 4, 1941.
