Biography Luigi Boccherini (Boccherini Luigi)
(1743-1805) Born February 19, 1743 in Lucca. His early works - six string quartets - published in 1768 in Paris. Was a court composer of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm II; after his death (1797) settled in Madrid, where he died in poverty, 28 May 1805. Boccherini wrote many chamber works, of which today are performed only a few. His famous minuet in A major part of the String Quintet in E major. Works Boccherini different freshness of sound, craftsmanship and elegance of orchestral writing, though they lack the dramatic expressiveness.
