Biography Philo of Alexandria
Philo of Alexandria tried to reconcile the Old Testament doctrine of the creation of faith in the world per capita and monotheism to the astrology, developed the concept of the mystical significance of numbers. Based on the absolute transcendence of God and of stoic-Platonic doctrine of ideas, . Philo of Alexandria taught about the Logos as the highest and perfect God's creation, . through which God creates first substantive, . closer to him - angels, . and then the world of things and rights, . Philo of Alexandria advanced the theory of ecstatic ascent to God. In the cosmology of the Stoics developed theodicy. Philo pointed out that the star - not the root cause of things and events, they were created only on the fourth day, and they can not worship. However, Philo believed that the stars - are intelligent beings, fully virtuous and incapable of evil, whereas men are able and good, and evil, and the animals are unable either to or to another. Philo of Alexandria recognized the possibility of astrological predictions and the concept of the natural sympathy between the different parts of the universe (in this sense, he believed that all things on earth depend on the stars). He interpreted the 11 stars of Joseph's dream as correlating with signs of the zodiac, while himself Joseph symbolizes the 12 th sign. Philo of Alexandria had a great influence on the authors of the New Testament and the theology of early Christianity.
