Biography DEBRA Michelle
(1912-1996) Born January 15, 1912 in Paris. He received a law degree, served in the social security. During the Second World War, cooperated with the French underground in Morocco and France. After the war, he became a senator (1948-1958). In 1958, Debray was appointed Minister of Justice. He held the post of prime minister until 1962. Resigned after the Evian agreement of 18 March 1962, in which Algeria gained independence. In 1966 he returned to the government, held the posts of Ministers of Economy and Finance, in 1968 - Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 1969, after the election of Georges Pompidou, became Minister of Defense in 1973, resigned. Remained a member of the National Assembly in 1963-1986. Run for president in 1981, but scored less than 2% of votes. In 1988 he was elected a member of the French Academy. Debreu died in Monlui-sur-Loire, August 2, 1996.
