Biography Mary Cassatt (Cassatt Mary)
(1845-1926) Born May 22, 1848 in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania). Since 1874 lived permanently in Paris. This style of her paintings are highly original and developed almost without any training, approximate it with Edgar Degas and other Impressionists. Mary Cassatt participated in exhibitions with the artists of this group, using the American context, it helped make their work known in the U.S.. Most of her paintings and pastels, different patterns brilliant and warm color, devoted to the theme of motherhood. She masterfully owned many techniques engraving and became especially famous for its colored prints. Mary Cassatt died in Mesnil-Teribe (Department of Oise) in France June 19, 1926
